Presentation Description: This 90-minute virtual presentation delves into the critical components of workplace well-being and their direct influence on employee retention. Participants will acquire practical tools to cultivate a supportive work environment, mitigate burnout, and enhance psychological safety. By implementing these strategies, organizations can expect to see improved employee satisfaction, increased productivity, and reduced turnover, leading to a more resilient and thriving workplace.

Presentation Objectives: 

  • Identify key challenges to workplace well-being, such as burnout, compassion fatigue, emotional labor, and vocational awe, and describe their impact on workplace culture. 
  • Analyze current workplace practices to determine gaps in psychological safety, mental health support, and physical work environment enhancements. 
  • Develop and propose well-being initiatives such as flexible scheduling, equitable policies, and supportive work environments that promote employee well-being and foster a healthier workplace.

Presenter: 

Bobbi L. Newman is a librarian, Certified Wellness Practitioner, workplace well-being consultant, and advocate for healthier, more inclusive, and productive workplaces. She is passionate about fostering environments where individuals and teams not only work but thrive. With nearly a decade of experience, two published books on workplace wellness, and a Certificate in the Science of Well-Being from Yale University, Bobbi’s approach is evidence-based and deeply empathetic.

This session qualifies for 1.5 CE hours. Complete the evaluation survey within 30 days to get CE credit (survey link TBD). Please allow 1 week after completing the survey to receive your certificate.

This session will be recorded and posted on the ACLA wiki. Completing the survey after viewing the recording will also qualify for CE credit.
