Event Details
This 2-hour interactive training program provides participants with an introduction to mentoring and what to expect as a mentor. Topics like the "mentoring lifecycle," communication skills, establishing boundaries, and appreciating diversity will make it easier for mentors to navigate relationships with their mentees. This training is appropriate as an introduction to the field of mentoring and to refresh current mentors on best practices.
Program presented by The Mentoring Partnership. This presentation is the first in a series from The Mentoring Partnership and attendees must attend Mentoring 101 to participate in upcoming sessions – Cultural Humility and Understanding Challenging Behavior. All library staff who interact with youth could benefit from these trainings; however, those libraries seeing behavior challenges in youth and teens might find these beneficial.
